Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Short version: We are databaseless. We collect minimal data. We do not require login. We do not sell your data. Code execution happens in your browser — nothing is sent to our servers. We show AdSense ads, gated behind your cookie consent choice.

1. Overview

CodeLearn Pro ("we", "our", "us") is a free, databaseless coding education website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices. By using CodeLearn Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please do not use our website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to operate and improve the site: Automatically collected data: When you visit our website, our servers may log standard web server data including your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, and referring website addresses. This data is collected automatically and is used solely for security monitoring and aggregate analytics. Analytics data: We use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. This includes page views, session duration, and general geographic region (country level only). We do not track individual users across sessions. Local storage: We use your browser's localStorage to save your preferences such as your last visited language and code playground content. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. No account data, no database: CodeLearn Pro does not require registration or login, and does not operate a database of any kind. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal account information.

3. Cookies

We use a minimal number of cookies: Essential cookies: Small session cookies required for the website to function correctly. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. Analytics cookies: If analytics is enabled, we may use cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track aggregate usage patterns. These cookies do not identify you personally. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): CodeLearn Pro displays advertising through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies to serve ads, measure performance, and personalise ads based on your browsing activity. These only load after you accept our cookie consent banner — if you decline, the AdSense script never loads and no advertising cookies are set. You can manage your ad preferences at any time through Google's Ad Settings. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or receive notifications before cookies are stored.

4. Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following third-party services: Google Fonts: We load fonts (Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono, Syne) from Google Fonts. Google may log font requests. See Google's Privacy Policy for details. codelearn.pro (content API): Tutorial and language reference content is fetched from our own API at codelearn.pro. This request includes only what's needed to load a page (e.g. which language or tutorial you're viewing) — it does not include anything you type into the code playground or any personal information. Pyodide (WebAssembly): Python code execution uses Pyodide loaded from CDN. No code you run is transmitted to any server — execution happens entirely in your browser. sql.js (WebAssembly): SQL execution uses sql.js loaded from CDN. All SQL queries run locally in your browser — there is no backend database involved, and none of your query data is transmitted anywhere. Google AdSense: We display advertising through Google AdSense to support the free service. Google may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing history, but only once you've accepted our cookie consent banner. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time — see Section 3 above.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to: - Operate and maintain the website - Understand how visitors use the site (aggregate analytics only) - Improve content and user experience - Monitor for security threats - Serve relevant advertising, only after you've consented (Google AdSense) - Comply with legal obligations We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days for security purposes and are then permanently deleted. Aggregate analytics data (with no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely to track long-term site performance. LocalStorage data stored in your browser is under your control and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. Since CodeLearn Pro is databaseless, there is no server-side copy of this data to retain in the first place.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data: Right to access: You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. Right to deletion: You may request that we delete any personal data we hold. Right to object: You may object to certain types of data processing. Right to portability: You may request your data in a portable format. Since we collect minimal data, operate no database, and do not require registration, most of these rights can be exercised simply by clearing your browser cookies and localStorage, or by declining the cookie consent banner. For any other requests, contact us at privacy@codeattelier.com. For EU/EEA residents: We comply with GDPR requirements. Our legal basis for processing is consent (advertising cookies), legitimate interest (analytics to improve the site), and legal obligation (security logs).

8. Children's Privacy

CodeLearn Pro is a general coding education website suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not require any registration or personal information to use the site, children can safely use all features without providing any data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the homepage. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
